SCARLET + 'Voices in Your Pocket' Augmented Reality

The project aimed to produce an Augmented Reality app that would provide a unique experience for our users and researchers. It was funded by Jisc and delivered by Rose Lock, Senior Archivist, University of Sussex Special Collections.

Scarlet plusThe project used our Mass Observation collections, with particular focus on material digitised as part of the JISC-funded project Observing the 1980s. The app itself provides contextual information about archival documents, including video clips from staff and students and links to further resources.

To have a play with the Voices in Your Pocket app follow this link. The instruction sheets will help you download Junaio, find the correct AR channel, and view the AR content.

To read more about this project, the development of the app and what we learnt, follow this link to the MIMAS Case Study.
