GCSE History

The Mass Observation Archive has a wealth of material,  Labour pamphlet for websitedating from 1937 to the present day. It contains 'everday' responses to 20th - century events, such as the Great Depresession and The Second World War and documents social, cultural and technological changes in post-war Britain.

This session focuses on War and the transformation of British Society c.1931-1951 and will enable students to use original source material to develop their understanding of key topics such as; unemployment and the Depression, The Second World War, The Blitz, Dunkirk, D-Day, The Battle of Britain, the role of Winston Churchill, the changing role of women, Labour coming to power and the introduction of the National Health Service.

Sessions are not currently available at The Keep, but resources are available to download for use in the classroom and virtual sessions may be available.
