Mass Observation - Recording everyday life in Britain

Becoming a Friend

Become a friend

The Archive depends on money from outside the University for many of its special activities. It gains income from royalties from publications, and since 1991 the Friends of the Archive scheme has provided essential financial support for the Archive's activities.

Without the support of the Friends scheme, the Archive would struggle to collect new material from ‘ordinary’ people documenting everyday life in Britain. You can donate online quickly and simply here.

Fundraising Campaign 2015-2016

We are asking you to contribute to a campaign for the purchase of recording equipment. Being based in the South East means that many people who have an interest in Mass Observation and our programme of events are unable to participate due to our geographical location. To enable wider public engagement and learning we would like to produce podcasts of all our talks and events, as well as developing more film and audio content for our new website.

Please download the Friend's form and send it to the Archive with your subscription, or contact us.
