The Archive depends on money from outside the University for many of its special activities. It gains income from royalties from publications, and since 1991 the Friends of the Archive scheme has provided essential financial support for the Archive's activities.

Friends of the Archive 2009-8

Over the past year we have used your Friends’ subscriptions towards several projects. One of these has been the design of this website. The work was done by a small web design team called Community Sites who specialise in web work for museums, archives and community organisations.This year we have used the money raised by the Friends to employ a consultant, Sarah Hutchings, to help us produce our Annual Report. We also use the money to ensure we have a permanent member of staff to promote and manage the new Project. Without the Friends’ support the collection of contemporary material could not continue.

 

What you receive as a Friend of the Archive

Friends receive invitations to Friends' open days and are entitled to a discount on Archive publications. They also receive an Annual Newsletter, which keeps them in touch with the Archive's activities.
